Purpose

The Iowa Interim Assessment in Mathematics — a set of three (3) online tests, aligned to the Iowa Core, intended to help teachers and counselors make more informed decisions about the educational progress of students in Grades 3 through 8. Each test will provide scores on students’ performance within standard; and upon completion of all three tests students will receive information regarding whether they are “on track” towards proficiency and college-readiness.

The tests are delivered online and on-demand—schools are provided the flexibility to administer the tests according to local scheduling preference.

Price

The Iowa Interim Assessment – Mathematics is $3.00 for each student tested.

Content Description

Using the Iowa Core Standards as a guide, items relevant to grade-specific mathematics standards were selected from pools of items administered nationally. Selected items were assembled into three (3) twenty-item online tests, each intended to be administered in 20 minutes or less.

Test Materials and Scoring

The Iowa Interim Assessment – Mathematics is administered via computer. Student percent correct and national percent correct (for comparison) are presented at the end of each 20-item test. Upon completion of all three tests, students are provided with “On Track” interpretations, for both proficiency and college-readiness, at each standard associated with the grade-level tested.

Reports are available as .pdf downloads, and student result data may be downloaded in an Excel format to support additional analyses.
